Got a bear!!!

Hello hunters!! I shot a 170 lb bear up in northern maine. First big kill with my bow!! I went up to help my buddy's mom with her hunt and i got to sit on a bait.. Never had my heart race like that cause of a animal!! i am going to do it again next year with my own baits!!!

the bears this year seem to be everywhere. we have not seen too many Big-uns but for sure the populations are holding their own probably increasing . Now if the Deer end up with a good winter that would be great . Still not seeing the numbers we saw 5-6 years ago.

If you check the link and read the article something does not add up with refusal to identify all in the group. Following the article Please read the posted comments . As houndsman and hunters we are our own worst enemies.

I have stayed at that Camp before when it was owned by an elderly couple. I believe it is now owned by the LL Bean Corp entity ,catering to the high end Non Resident hunters .

I probably spent 3 years up in the PATTEN area during the hunting seasons . Smartest thing that I ever did was Get the Hell out of there . Never saw so many cut-throat camps ,Guides , Outfitters and Hound-hunters in one place . All about the $$$ and HOW to FLEECE it out of others. When the Game Wardens tell you to stay AWAY from 10 - 12 Hound guides you know there are some serious issues going on there.
