Hey Robb,
You can always make one like the second link that you posted. I made mine out of pvc pipe. Let me know if you want info on how to make it, but I'm sure you could find it on the internet too.

What do you think about the animal grasper? You think that animal control pole works better?

PM me your phone number again..

the catch pole will work a hell of a lot better than cat tongs. I'm an animal control officer and the cat tongs barely work on cats let alone a pissed off coon, in order for the tongs to work you have to be able to get them around the neck and a coons neck is a lot shorter and fatter with a lot more strength. a catch pole works good if slipped around the mid section and tightened up nice and tight plus you have more leverage to move a mad coon.

I would like pics and instructions how to make one. One that has a catch on it preferably so you don't have to keep pulling on it.

You can buy everything you need at Home depot....I call it the poor mans catch pole...but it works great for coons or feral cats.....or small dogs.....and it's simple to make...
1 inch pvc
a pvc cap for 1 end
rubber coated cable ( bought by the foot)
A 2 1/2 inch closeline tightener ( most important piece )
Handle ( I used a deer antler..you could use an old lawn mower handle or something similar.

1. cut pvc to desired lenght ( I did 3 feet)
2. whatever length your pvc is, make sure you have at least 2 feet longer in rubber coated cable.....
3. drill 2 smallholes in the pvc cap next to each other. ( for the cable to run through....
4. Insert the cable into one of the holes in the cap, and attached a crimp to the end of the cable to terminate it...this crimp sits inside one of the holes in the cap........run the other end of the cable through the other hole in the cap.....( this is the loop or snare ) attach the cap to the pvc pipe.....and keep running the cable through the pvc pipe.......once you come put the other end you want to run the cable through your closeline tightener.....( there are bearings in here that hold tension when you zip it tight, and then you can release tension to let the coon out....
5. the closeline tightner fits perfectly in the pvc....add some gorilla glue to make sure it stays put.......
6. I made a handle out of deer antler....drilled the center out and counter sunk the end of the cable using another crimp to terminate the end.....any handle will work....

what is cool about this is that once you zip down on an animal, you do not have to hold tension....the "closeline tightner" keeps the tension.....and you can focus on transferring the animal.....then there's a quick release on the close line tightener you just pull to release the tension...

side note: I added some black shrink tubing to mine just to polish it up.....I had it lying around the house....but it's not necessary.

the picture above is the first one I made using 3/4 " pvc......Since then i started using 1" cause the closeline tightner fits perfectly in the 1", and it's a little more solid than the 3/4" pvc.

And there you have it........the only excess material is some extra pvc...and there's always a use for that in the house somewhere....If I took away the cost for the left over pvc, the cost is truly around $7.50 in materials.

C'mon Robb, if you were a real man you would just reach in there and grab that coon by the scruff of the neck and sling em' into the roll cage...Don't make me come over there an' show you...

You got me buddy.....I just used whatever HomeDepot/Lowe's has on the shelf in the long 10' pieces....... nothing fancy, just regular old pvc did the trick........You can buy EVERYTHING at home depot.......
Good luck....post a pic once you get it hammered out.....:)
Stan

P.S.
That green rubber coated cable I used, that I got from Home depot, is basically just closeline wire.....
