Steve, since the collar lights are only staying solid i cannot get the collar to link with the Astro. The way i was trying to reprogram it was through WebUpdater from garmin where you link the collar to the Astro, and plug the astro into the computer. Do you know of another way to reprogram it??
Thanks

Re: Garmin DC20,30,40 3.50 Software Update
Mule man- Sure wish we could!!!! Can't use the dog tracking features when hooked to a bigger screen. Supposed to be able to use the turn by turn, but have not tried it.
Walker- Yes it is fairly flat here. A dip or 2 by your standards. Still very dense cover. The test I mentioned it had to go through heavy forest, and at least 20 houses to get the signal. Using it over the weekend Had the same results and even got up to 1.3 miles. A little more hilly where I was hunting, but still not what you southern folks would consider to be a hill. Maybe 100ft rise. Did have to go through 2 dense swamps, a thick cutover, and again dense forest. No open line of sight, and you would not want to walk across or straight to the dogs. Not sure you could, and I would not try it. Yes this was with the stock antenna.
Bluetick- The web updater is the only way to do it. I would try this. Disconnect the battery for at least 20 minutes. Longer would not hurt. Then update it before doing anything else. That may do the trick. The steady light means the software is goofed up I believe.

I tried the hard reset ( unhooked the battery for 2hrs), still nothing. Sent a message into Garmin they had me check a couple of connections, and then said send it in. There going to fix it free of charge!!!
