i thought you were having a problem. I have never had a problem with this in dogs raised in a clean pen or fairly long chain. I,ve had females that aged and started to leak when ever they lay down. but if he is pissing in his bedding on purpose clean it out bleach it real well and see what happens it may help to piss in the area you want him to use.

pegleg, now that's funny! I was afraid to look at this post at first for the very same reason!

Muck,
I'm probably a bit more harsh than a lot of folks, but I would let the filthy pig sleep in it. If that didn't stop it, and I couldn't find someone else that could tolerate filthy behavior, I'd just plain do away with him. I personally have a VERY low tolerance for males and their stinkin pig attitudes. There are thousands of good dogs out there that don't eat their own s&%t, don't feel the need to crap in their feed dish, don't piss all over the back of the pick up getting in and out,..... sorry to rant, but like I said, I'm opinionated and intollerant.

thanks ya i have a way clean covered kennel that is cleaned twice a day. i picked the dog up when he was around 10 months. i think he was abused so i dont know if that has anything to do with it. i dont have a problem with him pissing on anything else like a male does. its just he pisses all over his bedding. cant figure it out

Well Benny G you are honest and I can't say I wasn't warned.

Not sure if it's true, just funnier than hell. A been there done that moment.

I have seen this in females. If you only give them carpet or a blanket for their bedding that stopped it for me, after some time then add some shavings.

Pups that were not raised on cement floors often are not stimulated to pee on it. They will pee and poo on a surface that they are used to doing it on. I don't think it is because the pup is stupid, rather the opposite, doing the wrong thing for the right reason. I would think that the bed should be removed and a new one put in with nothing for bedding and a small pile of straw placed at the front of the kennel and see what happens. This may recondition the pup and at some point if it is working remove the straw and even later give him some bedding for winter.

I would first make sure he does not have a bladder infection. Then if he does not make his dog box or bed just to fit him and then get him up and out frequently and when he goes where he should praise him. But,some dogs are different. I have one that no matter where you put his food dish when he is done he pees in it. He has great aim!
