Ear scabs
Ear scabs
I have an english/bluetick that has tiny scabs on the top back side of his ears. it looks like it could be caused by some kind of flea or tick. the scabs are smaller than a pin head and there are probably a couple hundred of them in the affected area of about 3-4 sq. inches. It has been like that for a while and it doesn't seem to bother him but I don't know for sure. does anyone have any ideas what it could be?
Re: Ear scabs
Blood, horn flies often do that.
Any good oil based fly treatment every other day should help.
Good luck.

Oiler coach Bum Phillips when asked why he takes his wife on all the road trips.
Phillips: “Because she is too damn ugly to kiss good-bye.”
Not sure if it's true, just funnier than hell. A been there done that moment.

Re: Ear scabs
yeah flies are 99% surely the cause. I remember visiting a city cousin as a child and the neighbors shepherd was on a four foot chain with both ears eaten through by flies. I don't consider myself queasy by nature but thats a sight that I clearly remember. a GOOD quality fly repellent works well too.
