Only if the bobcat was stuck in a trap. Otherwise they would never catch one.

I am sorry if you seriously did not know.
here is my limited experience and opinion. "limited"
1.they are huge ungainly. not likely to be able to work all day much less compete with a bobcat.
2. the dog aggression is definitely in the ones "I've" seen
3. take a very experienced and persistent handler to get regular obedience. I know someone will argue this point. I am just stating what I have seen I have a close acquaintance who breeds,trains ,sells,and trumpets to the world their many attributes.
I don't personally know ANY houndsmen who would put the hundreds of hours in to get basic obedience he does and recommends.
4. They aren't hard to train because of stubborn intelligence. it's a dull brain hiding deep in there that seems to cause the issue.

Now maybe his represent the genetic armpit of the breed but given his whole life revolves around them and he has traveled to Italy to bring breeders back and sells them as VERY expensive protection and working dogs . He most likely has at least the upper average corso available. they seem dull even in the company of other mastiff breeds.
they might work as a catch dog on hogs given the right dog.
