Re: Big OR Bear
Adam has hunted with me since he was 8, he is 12 now. He has seen alot of bears & lions for his age. He has 1 blue tick male that he is training. I hunt a tribal reservation in OR. with hounds. OR has alot of big bears since it banned hound hunting for lion & bear in 1994. We can still use hounds as tribal members for bear & lion. OR needs to change its ban on hound hunting. They are getting over populated with bear/lion and the deer numbers are way down now. I take my kids out as much as I can. They may not have any hunting left when they grow up. It has sure went down hill since I was a kid. I hope one day we can all hunt bear/lion in OR with hounds again, before all the deer are gone.

My hat is off to you Adam we need a story on this one. There is nothing better then seeing a child take an animal of any kind but this animal is absolutley AWESOME!!!!!! My only question is how many people did it take to get that beast on that four wheeler lol???? Once again great animal and great job teaching the young. Keep up the awesome work!!!!

Re: Big OR Bear
I took Adam hunting to start training his blue tic male. We got on a big bear track in the Swan Lake area. Using the GPS system we could tell that we had a bear on the ground and he was not going to tree. We caught up to the dogs and could see a large male bear bayed up and were happy to see our young dogs working him behind the older dogs. I told Adam he better take this one, it is a "good one". After the first shot he turned and charged us and the dogs stopped him and turned him back. He ran off and the chase was on foot now. After about 1/2 mile and another charge we finally had him down. After looking at the bear I call my friend Andrew and told him to bring his quad and some help. It took all of us (4) to prop the bear up, tie him off and swing his butt up on the rack. Adam did real well and did not get rattled. I am real proud of him. He goes hunting with me alot and knows what to do. I take my boys Adam & Aaron hunting & fishing often and enjoy seeing them get game. I hope to do the same when I have grand kids.
