Problem
Re: Problem
JMO...But usually when this topic arises..which it hasnt in a long time, the way to squash it out is.
1. Try to compromise with them 1st.
OR
2. Start reminding her that you can go and hang out with so and so and this is where you start bringing up all your horrible bad friends that go to the bar, hangout with women, stay out late, spend money on this and that doing stupid crap.
And then they usually come to the conclusion after they can ponder and weigh out the good and bad...that you and those dogs being in the woods all alone is a lot better than most of the alternative choices that can be made...which in their mind if hes in the woods theres not other women and the money being spent for hunting isnt compared to what it could be.

Re: Problem
if she will leave you over part of who you are then the relationship isnt that strong to begin with . sounds like more of a control issue . life is short . if she gets her way she wont respect you anyways .

Ya she said she might come out but I don't want her 2 untill I get a couple dogs that know what they are doing. I'm pretty much just starting out and don't want her 2 see me get all pissed at the dogs and jst be a cluster hopefully once I have dogs that will catch I will try harder 2 get her out. But as for the ki I will defenatly get her out once she is a little older she is only 3 months and hope they bolth come 2 like it.

Re: Problem
Get her a house dog for company--something you can tolerate, like a lab or even a beagle. Get her to like dogs in general first.
My big problem is that my hounds are my husband's pets (mine too) and he is all worried about them when we are out hunting. Our current agreement is that he doesn't call the rescue squad until at least one hour after sunrise (when we are night hunting), and that I don't ever say the word "bear" when I'm leaving with the hounds. We are just going hunting. He knows I do it, but he doesn't want to be worrying about the dogs while we are.

Re: Problem
this is my 2 cents...family is much better than dogs. Period. And that's always the case. When i married my wife I was riding bronc horses a bunch and going to a lot of rodeos. I also had a few hounds. Situations changed in our lives and the best thing i EVER did was take a break. Sold the hounds and went without a horse or rodeo or truck for 4 years. Guess what?...Those were some of the best times in my life. I realized i didn't need the hounds or horses.
Now that I have them all again it's great and I enjoy it for what it is. But, if you are in love with her, and your child I'd take a very serious look at what could be if you tell her goodbye. Sometimes divorce is the right thing, I've also seen it more times than not be the worst thing anyone ever did...
I also agree with others that she should have some compromises too. It's a two way street

Ive been there too and the familly came first when the kids were little at least until they were old enough to come along I didnt get rid of the dogs but they didnt get as much as work as they deserved. Now days I make up for it every chance I get which the old girl doesnt mind because she does like me being around that much getting the road. She recons she married me from 4 in the afternoon till 6 in the morning not 6am to 4pm suits me just fine.

Re: Problem
Hound hunting can be a great family activity if everybody pitches in to make it manageable and fun. Good luck getting your woman interested; if it's something you really love she should at least give it a try! Sometimes it's just as hard for a woman hound hunter to find a guy that'll put up with the hounds & hunting with other guys. And yes, the dogs were here first and that's part of who I am, take it or leave it LOL
