Tred Barta's hound hunt

Post by chilcotin hillbilly »

Anyone catch Treds Bear hunt on Versus. I haven't seen the show but would like your feed back and suggestions for improvements, as he wants to comeback next year and kill 2 bears for his show. Let me know what you think.

Haven't seen it but I like Tred. He is a world class sport fisherman and I like the fact that he still has nuts enough to hack it out with a stick bow. He is into the experience and he brings some real excitment and reality to the screen where we get so use to the soccer moms and everybody else sying. Oh look her he comes, grunt and rattle a little, Oh! OH! OH! I can't beleive I just shot that nice little 170 class buck at 38.3 yards in Lee and Tiffany's back yard. Oh my heart! , my heart! Cut!! try to make that second My Heart sound a little fresher there precious.! LOL!

I never seen any of his shows so I had no preconceived ideas of him before we met. Seems like a straight shooter with alot of confidence. this confidence may come across as an ego
Thanks for the compliment, but I really didn't do much, the dogs really deservethe credit.

I seen the show and was absolutely awesome, Tred in a wheel chair did not stop him and everyone there to help him complete that hunt was inspiring! Yes Tred comes off as an ass sometimes but that show he seemed like a trooper that had good friends that did everything to help a buddy to keep hunting his way no matter what!

If you would like to read a little about Tred.

He recently suffered a spinal stroke and is paralized from the chest down and is also fighting a rare form of blood cancer. But Tred ever up for the challenge is out there hunting, fishing, horseback riding and sking adapting to his disability. With the determination formed by early years as an Olympic Biathelete, Tred will definatly go down swinging when he does.

He declined numerous endosements to do things his way and that is rather rare in the sporting world today.

Give Tred our best and thank him for showing uis the real stuff!

i seen the show , im not a huge tred barta fan but its sad what happened to him , im inspired by his dedication so i thought it was great that you guys accomodated a handicap hunter anyone thats been to a bear tree knows how tuff it can be to get there i can only imagin how hard it was to push someone in a wheel chair out there , keep up the good work and i would love to see another show with you and tred !

Thanks guys. Tred is a true champion when it comes to no quit. He is as straight and honest of a guy you will meet. I talk to him yesterday and there is talk of putting together a cougar/lynx hunt in Febuary, and coming again for 2 bears in May. Both these shows will be exclusively hound hunting, I hope the dogs can pull it off and the public gets a chance at watching some great tv, as the camera guys are the top in their field. Now I have a couple months to figure out how to move this crew around for a cat hunt.
