I've been searching the internet dilligently for information on this dog and I am almost 100% sure it is a Posavina Hound (other names Posavaski Gonic, Kras Posavac Basin Hound, Posavas Hound, or Posavian Hound). I've sent an email to the only breeder I could find with a listing on the internet (they're in Croatia). I would love to have one, but don't think I could foot the shipping bill. They are medium sized dogs, about 55 lbs for males, and good hunters. They are used mainly for hare, deer, and hogs (didn't say anything about tree game). I'm hoping they will send me an email verifying the breed (I included the picture in the email I sent) and maybe some contact info for other breeders. I did read that they are almost unheard of outside of the Balkans. Beautiful dog though!

Jim
