Kevin, haven't seen your trashy butt on here in a few years...... how are things? I would build one myself if i thought i could. The only thing i can make myself is a peanutbutter and jelly sandwich. I screw that up sometimes too.

Have a good one fellas.

Vaughn, it sounds like you have to resize the pics. I got a really strange question, you western guys all have your dog sled jacked up in the air, I'm sure for clearing deeper snow, man they must be top heavy? I have played with about everything, and the most simple, toughest, thing I could come up with is an otter sled, with the top half alum, and a door in front, I can pack up to six dogs packed  , and I pull it with a tundra in this flat ground. If i hit a dead end road, I unhook and spin them around by hand, no big deal. I'm sure rocks etc, would be tough on the plastic, but you can put runners, heck these guys will even bolt an old set of downhill ski's on the bottom, how come you guys go high?

Cat and bear can you post a photo of your Otter set up? Thats what I have but am trying to figure out how to haul the dogs in it. Also what size Otter is it? I live out west, I'd like to have a taller sled but can't afford it, our snow is deep and powdery.

cat and bear, i would love to see your set up as well, sounds like a good one, alot of the time where i hunt, its snow in the morning and rocks on the way home, and yes i have rolled them in the past, but now i have a swivel that turns all all the way around so even if i roll the sled, which i do on occasion, the box stays upright.

Sure folks, I will bring it out tomorrow its in the shed. I tried a narrower version, would tip when turning around, in deep snow, this one I've had probably ten years, not much i wouldnt change, if you wanted to get fancy like vaugh does  I suppose you could run alum ski's under it, or even make a little spring suspension, the key is you really got to go wrong to tip it, and it pulls so darn easy, you dont need the big hp sled.

I've tried an Otter. If I could make it 100 yards going 10 mph without tipping it over, I was doing good.

Hey Vaughn, the easiest I've found is go to the home page, click on how to post a pic, click the topic of resizing images, buddys post, vso, is really simple, he posted how to down load it with instructions, even I can do it

Vaughn, you make some very nice boxes, here is the otter sled, its 36x6. I have stuffed up to six dogs in it, during our cat kill season,If the snow would get deep. I put it sideways in the truck, and the ski's of the snowmobile goes under it, works good. The other small thing to mention, the ass end of the snowmobile broke through the ice on the river, and the sled floats like a boat,up and out she came, hate to think, what could have happend. The sides is a few holes and window screen to keep the fluffy stuff out, if its a warm day, I just drop the back lap and plenty of air. Because of the slippery slope in the front, the dogs cant all jump out quick, you can control them as you take them out. This sled is about ten years old now LOL.
