I think the cat population is WAY down from a couple years ago. The hare population in the area I run crashed two winter ago and the cats went with em :?.

I been out scouting quite a bit and have only saw about a 1/3 the tracks is saw 2 years ago. I havent been seeing much for kittens tracks either. but then again it doesnt help when I have neighbors that dont care about how many they take either. over harvesting doesnt help the numbers either.

I've noticed the same thing...the hare and rabbit population has plummeted in both MN and WI. Cats are following the trend. Less so in the fringe areas, but still dropping. One interesting thing is that the harvests have remained relatively high. Is this year going to be different?

Regardless, I'll be out there burnin' fuel, daylight, and the little change I have left in my pocket...all to enjoy the most miserable sport you can put youself through.

I wish we had bobbers down here on the southern end of the state. I have a coyote hound that has a sweet tooth for ditch cougars. If we has bobbers around here, I think she'd be all over them.

Caincando1- You do have them in your part of the state. You just have to look alittle harder and get near the rocks. If you happen to find gray fox instead, that's even better. Kill all of the coyotes and you start to see more. Riverbottoms are the key in your part of the state and the closer to the Mississippi you can get the better. Good luck.
