California...is there anywhere that is not snowed out?

Post by Liz ODell »

Just curious if there is anywhere in California that just didn't get bear season ended this weekend?
Anyone wanna make any bets on if the season runs until Dec. 28th for once this year?
It has pretty much sucked here all year with the bears being hard to find and while we were out getting stuck on the snowmobiles a mile from out from the house yesterday we decided they might even be a little harder to find now
Well I hope all your dogs are tucked away safe in their dog houses and theres no one out there with dogs snowed in any where.

Yeah its supposed to storm again next week too...I'm hoping it will melt but it might be wishful thinking. I don't recall it ever snowing this much in November before.

No snow on the coast. Most of Humboldt, parts of Mendo. and Del Norte counties are fine, a little wet, but not enough snow to hurt much.

Yep, way too much snow here also, I was sitting here racking my brain trying to think of someplace low enough to hunt, might have to sit it out for awhile. Mike

Hey Vanlaar

My brother in law Ken Baxley lost 3 dogs that same day some where above Goerge Town Ca. He's been trying to get to them everyday, he's pretty sure they have moved some and was suppose to going in after them again today with a snow mobile, and it's still snowing with 5-6 ft on the ground already.

Same here, any news on any of them...supposed to snow again starting Thursday...bleegghhhhh. Well at least we have snowmobiles this year and have been getting on some cats. I don't even know that I'd turn out on a bear track if I found one, it is darn easy for a bear to run a dog down in the deep snow.

You can get around in the bottom half but not up by the timber. Mike

Ya should be able to get in grizzly flat but the dogs will get away from ya and ya won't be able to follow them. I know up the road from the house here there's about 4 foot of snow at 5,000 foot, I'm done in this country, probably for the season. I'm headed to the brush tomarrow for a week or two, gonna finish the season over there. Mike
