pup training. sw

Post by sswhitney »

Here is a video url for our pup training this weekend, there are lots of dogs in it, but 3 are less than 6 months old, and 2 of those are doing great. I don't know why the embeded code didn't work. But I hope you all enjoy the video. SW

I uploaded the video to Tinypic, so this should work better. Added some pics as well.

Dog on the left is my 6month old female pup named Ziggy. Amazing little pup. Been doing this from 3months old.

This is my buddies 11 month old female Pepper, she was on over 20 bears this year, good little dog.

Here is Ziggy again, she really hates those coons, dead or alive!

This redtick is my 6 month old Crank Breed Pup named Jack. He just turned on this day, in the video you can really see him jumping at the coon, he is trailing better now. I was amazed how in just 1 session he turned on, the last time I had taken him out he didn't hardly pay attention to the coon. I have taken him out 2 more times, and it was not a fluke! another great pup.

He looks good. Glad that you are able to enjoy him. He has alot of his mother traits for sure. Except the big body. :) Keep me posted on his progress.

Trained again this weekend, one day on a lion hunt, one day with coon drags. Lil ole Ziggy is one awesome pup, I am posting pics of her in the bluffs with the older dogs. That Jack pup really turned it on again this weekend on the drags, he finished 2 drags, one with only the pups, one with the whole pack. Jack was a front runner behind some of my older better dogs. He is gonna make them look bad at the rate he is going. I also got one of my buddies hard to start dog turned on for the first time since he got it. I was stumped why he wouldn't turn on with the whole pack. I figured if I had a live coon or something he would probably do it, but didn't catch any this week. So I left him on the ground with another pup, tied a 20' rope to my hitch, the other end to the coon, and I started dragging it in front of him, I'll tell you for sure! It didn't take that dog long to turn ON! and I mean turn on! He was a totally different dog. I hope it sticks until we train again, or I'll drag one for him before I lay down a trail. We'll see how this boy turns out.
