CALIFORNIA BEAR

Post by BEAR HUNTER »

Well since we are all snowed out in most of the country and more snow is on the horizon I went ahead and harvested my bear for the freezer. He was a nice 200 lb boar. Dogs did outstanding. The track was frozen so they had a hard time getting it up. My old English dog and my buddies Plott cold trailed the track for about an hour. It was a winding feed track through oaks. The triggs stayed with it and when the track warmed up they took off and caught the bear. The combination sure works good. The triggs make these cold nose dogs pick up their head and run. My boy and I had a great time. Excellent dog work and I got to spend the day with my boy. Doesnt get any better.
