Just what I wanted for Christmas

Post by BigGameHunter »

News is reporting today that the bill to extend unempolyment benefits will be passed this week. Just what I wanted to do with my tax dollars! I am so sick of bailout bullshit I think I'll go puke. In the not to recent past I heard an aquantance of mine BRAGGING that he has the time to do whatever the hell he wants to do because he is on what he called "The Obama Work Plan". What ever happened to spending that time finding a damn job? Give me a break.

I have another friend who barely scrapes by, working two jobs, gave up his hounds, just about gave up hunting all together, just so he could do what he needs to do to take care of his family. He is welcome in my truck anytime. He'll have a dog waiting as soon as he gets back on his feet.

I am sick and tired of working my azz of to support those that don't/won't work.

Call your reps and give them a peice of your mind!

its a double sided blade. My wife who has a degree took 8 months to a find a job. I know she applied everywhere and anywhere. For some they need it, for others they abuse it. I also know other people who make 450 bucks a week to do nothing and pretty much just do that. But for those that need it as they are trying to find the employment I am glad they got their extension for the others, maybe they should have to pay it back.

I agree with nmmplott there are people that really need it that cant find a job, its those sorry asses like the guy mentioned bragging about it that dont deserve it. Just like the people that are on food stamps and tanf, when me and my wife was on tanf we barely made it but got the help we needed. Now we both have degrees and are paying it back with jobs. There are people that need it, that dont abuse it. My big thing is the drugies and the ones that party on it that piss me off, my small town has a ton of those. I would like to see random drug testing to be on any goverment program.

i will half to second the notion some things are out of peoples control. i think people do not realize how hard a good job is to come by. i have put full effort into finding a good job with insurance after having a 980,000 dollar hospitial bill with my first son and no insurance i refuse to go with out it so i will gladly keep taking my goverment check and insurance until i can find something to replace it  problem is there is next to nothing and after several apps and the same old response to wait in line i decided to get my shit back togather and apply for school and get educated. so marry christmas to me to just what my unemployed blue collar butt wanted. good look to all those that know the tuff times and godbless. to all of you on lookers who think it cant happen to them remember karma is a mother f$&@er

Read my post. Extension of unemployment benefits. Typically means people who are abusing the system and the Blue Collar working are those paying for it. I don't have a problem with people using unemployment for what it was intended to be used for, but when Obama and Pelosi and their like are putting people on a government check indefinatly; it PISSES ME OFF!

So if the shoe fits PUT THE DAMN THING ON; if it don't fit then I don't have a problem and I hope it helps your get on you feet(what it was intended to do)!

And inchtown; you've got it right. Drug testing would save a boatload of money from those that fail!

I also know other people who make 450 bucks a week to do nothing and pretty much just do that.

Yup. These are the ones that piss me off.

I tip my cap to those looking for a good job, but until you get it whats wrong with working at mcdonalds to feed the family? I understand, i to have a skilled trade but when times are tough i have no problem slumming until my skills are needed! Yes you worked to have those benefits but when they run out, they run out and then your living on credit which someone has to pay for!

not trying to piss anyone off that is looking for a job, and hats off to guys working two or more jobs to feed their famillies. but if we keep dishing out more and more money to all theese people with out jobs it will be all of us without a jops, a country is like a home with no money coming in and a lot going out enventualy you will run out, then who will be there to help. It won't be this country, and I hate to see it all end. Its just to bad we let it get this far, and its time to start changing things befor all the cards are maxed out, lets just hope we'r not there yet,

when I said my wife applied everywhere... I mean everywhere that was legit and moral. Mcdonalds, walmarts, sams club, costco, the residential treatment centers around here and so on... she was either over qualified or they did not want to pay her for her degree.

I do agree but when my Dad lost his job at the steel mill because of closing he needed unemployment. He is 60 yers old. Not too many places going to hire an older person. There are no close jobs. 50 miles to even try to get one other than minimum wage. Not really worth driving 100 miles a day for 7 dollars an hour. How is a person suppose to survive on that? So unemployment was the only option to survive.

Whatever happened to "WORK FOR WELFARE " ? I got no problem with receivers doing Community Service type work as Payback along with MANDATORY DRUG TESTING  Anybody heard of saving for a RAINY DAY ? Sad to see some of these people come out of the Unemployment / Welfare / Foodstamp office with fairly newer vehicles than I am Driving Blasting their RAP MUSIC

Since age 14 I have always had some type of job Picking Berries , helping load baled hay , cutting XMAS trees , Shovelling snow , Mowing lawns etc; to get what I wanted.During my adult years there was rarely a time when I did Not have a 2nd job even when it was only 25-30 hours per week .I actually amazed myself thinking back what I accomplished :o Paid off my houses early ,Put 2 kids through college on my own DIME Several hunting trips , Gave the kids sizeable deposits on their house purchase , Stashed away additional funds above and beyond retirement Yes some sacrifices were made but well worth it . JUST FACT NOT BRAGG.

Nowadays everyone in the INNER CITIES wants everything HANDED to them on a SILVER PLATTER . What is the matter with working for a living ? And don't get me started on women in GOVT housing popping out 3-4 kids doing the Full Welfare deal while their Boyfriend / MAN is working CASH jobs under the table for BLING , DRUGS ,and SUV's

Not saying ji applies to All there are certainly those folks that are in NEED of those programs through no fault of there own . Just saying that the system sucks and there are TOOOO MANYYYYY ABUSES :( and NOT enough VERIFICATION of NEED.

it is true the system is way to abused and i think a drug testing policy is awesome idea you half to do it to collect a check just about anywhere else. i know abusing the system allowed a relation of mine and his girl friend to carry on a full fledged meth addiction and raise two kids clear up until dcfs got called then it paid for them to sober up house there kids. they even managed to have her forge his paper work and he recieved several benefits while serving jail time. after eight months of passing random testing got there kids back then convinced the state they were now disabled due to there addictions affecting there bodys natural ability to produce dopeamine(the stuff that makes you happy in life) now they claim they half to fight depressin which keeps them from keeping a job so now through social securitey and disability and under the table work they do better than alot of people and in the mean time i would about bet there still using drugs. i think drug testing would be cheap compared to the costs of helping these kinds of people. however for all the rest the problem still remains. with out major economy changes it will be a long road for everyone so let them extend away.. wouldnt mind seeing a tax incress in the pockets of those fortuniate enough to afford it. i am all for everyone making all they can but come on some of these big corporate wages are sickening. no reason why it sould not funel down the hill a little in to middle america. corporate america is corrupt while most of america is struggling the fortunate few are able to make a killing. to get things rolling in the country we need to get the money in the hands of those who will use it best. a little money in the hands of a lot with go lots farther than alot of money in the hands of a few.

example we bailed out the auto industrie. obviously there are not selling enough cars or they would not be broke. so we give them tons of money to keep building cars they wont sell. why not give every american a gift certificate to a new car? everybody wins you keep up on the credit cards and morgage cause you no longer have an auto payment. auto industrie does good cause everybody is buying cars seems pretty to simple to me but this would not be the first time my name and simple have been put togather so take it like a grain of salt....rember $hit runs down hill not money. give money to the poor and the rich get it in the end but at least starting at the bottom it has the oppertunitie to do more people most good

not saying i agree with some of big wigs and the amount of money they are paid, but i am not one to say take from one guy to give to another. I was always taught you get what you work for wether it be with your hands or your head. Keep things headed in the direction they are going, and you will see them taking from the rich, and giving to the poor. the big problem with all of this is government trying to do to much, and to many people wanting something for nothing.

some of you guys are PISSING me off with SOME of your comments
If a business can NOT support itself ,let it fail
I started with "O" and am now pretty COMFORTABLE with what I have
What is stopping anyone from reaching that LEVEL?
There is a NEED for SOME people with Physical and Mental disorders to receive HELP.
I honestly do give about 10% of my income to charities and causes I believe in.
Why should someone have the right to dictate to me where MY MONEY should go?
Don't blame me for the MANY that want the GIVE ME GIVE ME attitude in life.
DESIRE and GOALS dictate how far we go in life and our Hounding Endeavors.
Why should we SUPPORT the Druggies , Crooks Rappers and the GIVE ME CROWD .
DON'T like it just leave :agmnt
