Some of the best dogs ever hunted were grade dogs. All that means is the dog wasnt registered. To me paper doesnt catch game. Yes it shows the dogs history and you can improve your chances of getting a good dog because everything is documented. But what do you have when you dont registered a dog from two registered dogs? You have the same dog, nothing different, just no papers. The pup isnt going to not hunt without the papers.

Plus some lines of "grade" dogs have been documented to the same extent as UKC dogs, only difference is...doing it yourself is free lol

We have grade cat dogs out here with 5 or 6 generations of cat dogs behind them. I will take one of them over a papered dog any time. There is some great papered dogs out there I have owned some and bred to some but most paper dogs don't have what I am looking for in a cat dog. Very few people breed bobcat dogs that are papered. Not that they are not good cat dogs. The best cat dog that I have ever owned was a papered dog. Treeing Walker she was far enough back to carry some running dog traits. Dewey

I guess what i was talking about was more on crosses. Then just not registered figured grade dogs kinda covered them as well .

Aint nothin wrong with a cross. My favorite cross is a plott/treeing walker. There is a man here in Arkansas that has made his own cross for several years that are pure machines. Its a 5/8 red bone 3/8 pitt, bred just like that for many generations. He calls them T-Bone curs. They look just like a red bone but with a touch of grit. Ive only seen them on hogs but I bet they would make some hellacious bear dogs. They will flat shut a race down.
IT AINT THA SIZE OF THA DOG IN THA FIGHT, ITS THA SIZE OF THA FIGHT IN THA DOG. http://www.dogemdownsouth.com http://dogemdownsouth.smfforfree.com

I don't agree with this because there isn't a set of papers out there that is 100% accurate. I ran with too many guys over the years that would put a set of papers on a dog they didn't belong to so they could get more money for it. As soon as this happens one time in a pedegree, that pedigree is worthless.
