Do your other dogs bark for no apparent reason ? :?
Has nothing to do with what it will or wont do hunting.

A lot of guys prefer a quieter dog, especially when on track , just locates now and then, and then opens up when on a hot track or sometimes not even until they jump they actual animal they are after. It COULD turn out to be a great thing. If shes barkin when playin with other dogs, you're fine. It means shes vocal when excited. She'll get excited when she starts sight running, then you can work on holdin her back and making her scent track to find something and jump it. I bet she'll turn out to surprise you. My Bloodhound was quiet pup. Then we started training her and a caged animal got her excited enough to open up then we cut it loose and let her go she was wide open. Now she silent tracks most of the time, then opens up when she strikes. I LOVE IT!!!!

Lol I guess I forgot to say this is my first hound puppy she is a wild and super smart. I guess just compared to my bud puppy that was 3 months when he got her every time the old dogs got fired up she would and start in with them that was actually kind of a curse because the other dogs wanted to come back. Thanks I was just wonderin. Seems to me a quiet on track dog it would be hard to tell whats goin on.

Most of the pups I have had not developed a voice till about 4 or 5 months old. Just savor the quiet while you still have it!! One of the pups I got now all of a sudden found her voice at 5 months and she will make your ears ring she is so damn loud!

Sorry to post on an old topic, but my female b&t is silent till she has the animal in her sights. When she sees it, she blows up. She won't put her feet on the tree, but sit back and watches, daring it to jump out. I like her being silent on track. The race is all ways cut in half with her on the trail. Good luck, you might have a great hound.
