Re: Favorite lion hound
I thought I'd respond before this turned to a fight. I like the one under the tree looking up and barking.

Re: Favorite lion hound
I have 2 blueticks, 1 blue/english cross, 1 red (mix), 2 walker/leopard/hightan crosses.
I think it makes for an interesting pack.

I like to look at a black n tan, but I like to catch cats with the walker b-tic crossed up mutts I run.
"Houndn'Ems Blueticks" if it smells like a cat, they'll catch it.
Re: Favorite lion hound
The best lion hound that I ever hunted with was Cap Atwood's Sarge he was a Plott. I have not owned a Plott for 30 years but I would if I could find the old cold trailing dogs like Cap had. Dewey

I agree with Scott... Whatever breed that gets the job done is my favorite!

Re: Favorite lion hound
I find when it comes to hunting being colourblind can be your worst enemy. I run 5 different breeds and they all bring something unique with them to the tree. As long as they work they could be pink for all I care and I'll still use them.

Re: Favorite lion hound
a mix of a bunch of good blood that will do the job. Prefer the ones red in color whether be solid red or redtick color, but I have seen good dogs in every color.
I like my men like I like my mountains...... Rugged, challenging, and WILD!!!
