Did your cousin, the vet, see and assess the dog? Or did he give meds as per your history?
What was his diagnosis?
What is the medication he provided? Dose? Frequency? Duration?

The cephalexin is an antibiotic.........for treating bacterial infection.
At the very least, I would continue the abx every 12 hrs as he has instructed and be sure to continue to do so for the full course of the treatment, EVEN IF THE DOG SEEMS BETTER. This is very important with any abx administration.
It may take a few days before improvements are seen. In the mean time, continue to monitor the dogs symptoms and vital signs if you know how to do so, temp, heart rate, strength of pulse, rate of respirations, ease of breathing or not, gum capillary refill rate, and check skin on back of neck for tenting when pinched and lifted up, a teast for dehydration.
Keep a log and write down any changes noted, good or bad. That way, if your vet needs further information because the dog is not improving, you can provide an invaluable accurate history.
Hope this helps.
