Antibiotics I found in nite lite catalog
They have antibiotic pills in there for sale I would like to buy them because you can't get them in oregon without a presciption, So I have been told. If you look at the ad and read on the bottle it says for aquarium onamental fish only. It seems that there trying to sell them for dogs just curious if you can or can't use them on dogs? If you know of something else that I can have on hand that I can use let me know.

Firstly, i have no experience using that particular product, but it looks like the 250mg is the standard for what vets perscribe for tetracycline or amoxicillian. I think they just found a loophole to legally market it, without need a a vet perscription. my thoughts

My Dad got sick a few years back and being a trout farmer, he had a supply of terramycin and thought it would be a good idea to mix some up and drink it himself. Bad idea! It blistered his throat and damn near killed him. He thought it would be about like taking pennecillin, but it's not! I wonder if it would be ok for dogs?

Fish Flex is cephalexin a alternative to pennicillin and Fish Mox is amoxicillian, yes you can use them on dogs

They are actually cheaper to buy from vet supply shops like Revival, or KV vet. I keep several on head. Fish flex or cephelaxian is a really good broad spectrum antibiotic but is best for bacterial infections like you get with skin tears, punctures. Amoxicillian is also good but more for other types of infections. Like an abcessed tooth or such. The goto on for dogs though really is the cephalaxin. Then for immediate use some good ole liguid penicillian. Keep it in the fridge and shake up. You can get that for cattle at most farm supply stores. You want to get the injectable kind. I believe it is Penicllian G procain. In an aqueous solution. It goes to work right away, the others take a day at least to start to kick in. So if the dog gets cut. They get a shot, and a pill. A pill every 12hrs after, and one more shot the 2nd day. The normal course of pills is 10-14 days.
If you live in tick areas should have some tetracycline on hand as well to start treatment for those diseases. Some vets give that others doxycycline. The doxy is just more money and needs a script.
