Re: need to build a cheap easy snowmobile sled for dogs
I dont have pic right now but all me and a buddy did was take an old tow behind trailer for your lawnmower and cut the axels off used part of the bracet and welded some snowmobileskis to it. Still need to work on the tounge mounted its a little to high but other than that it works ok the other thing we did wrong is made a plywood box that fit in the bed but it was to heavy so took it out and put plastic dog create in it and screwed it to the sides to keep it in. All in all only have the coast of the trailer in it and a couple hrs of time also bought the trailer at yard sale . Pretty red neck but cheap will post pics if you want.

Re: need to build a cheap easy snowmobile sled for dogs
I have done it a few ways. One is to use an large to XL otter sled with the hitch, and build a box to go inside it. This works and is fairly cheap, but is tippy. The best one I have made is what I use now. Took a dog sled and put a box on it. Weighs a bit more, but tracks better, and not as tippy. Cheaper as well if you can find a used dog sled. I paid $75 for mine. Box maybe cost me $50??. Pretty cheap overall.
Here is a pic of the otter sled one. I will have to take a pic of the dog sled model.

Been thinking of making some folding outriggers for more stability in climbing over things and turning, or in rutted trails. Otherwise works great. Platform on back is great for extra rider.
