some really old fashioned black & tans...

Post by P.W. Chapman »

Just a quick little picture for folks that think that all B&Ts started out as the real big, heavy, super-long eared type....NOT TRUE, the medium eared, quick, fast, style has also always been present in the breed. Check out this handsome Black & Tan from 1852. He has a kind of big impact on modern hounds of several breeds lol....

I have a female B&T out in my pen that could be his twin...no joke. Dead ringer.

i always thought that was a neat old picture. also agree a 100% on the fast smaller sized dogs that run to eat a critter not just trail it. heres a pic from awhile back of my one grade black female, her and her mom have caught more coons on the ground in the last five years than i can count and both are wide open trail dogs.
