Personally, I could care a less. I just double checked because I did not think I could be too far off...been doing it too long.

Yeh, why?
on a side note, I would think that if you disbelievers would get your ass out of the truck and follow lion tracks much at all, then you would see some of the same things. It is about time and distance on the ground... not the truck.

I would think it is a safe bet that most guys on this site CATCH ( key word, CATCH) more lions in a year than you will in a life time.

Re: You Might Not Believe This One...
Shoot, I should take that bet, but I don't want your money. Just so you and the rest of the world can know, our season has been open for exactly 8 weeks and my average is 1.625 catches per week so far. It would be much higher, except for the fact that I am now concentrating exclusively on 2 different very big toms right now and will not turn out on anything less at this point. I have found that I cannot tag the big ones, if I am tagging anything else. In the past 14 days, I have passed on 31 tracks while I wait for these 2 big toms to get into a safely runnable position, which is AWAY from the REZ and not TOWARDS it. On my best/worse day,LOL - I passed on 7 tracks while looking for one of the big ones. I put the odds at 100:1 against your bet. I am afraid that you and some others have seriously underested my and my hounds ability to catch. Of course it is my fault, as I wont post pics, but that is another can of worms.
Re: You Might Not Believe This One...
Liontracker.Don't you have any young dogs that could benefit enormously from running those 31 tracks ? What is your motivation when hunting ? Is it to kill a big cat or make your dogs the best they can be ?

No kidding, I'd sure love to find 31 track in 14 days. I only stumble onto a track once every 7.625 trips out, or maybe it was 7.493.......no,no, it was 7.425....yea 7.425....I think.

Re: You Might Not Believe This One...
Yes I most certainly do, but one look at those tracks and all else pales by comparison. I am on a mission and I cannot cut those big tracks right, if I am treeing females and smaller toms. This is a highcountry tom that has moved in and I do not want to take the chance of spooking him and having him move any further south onto a place where I can't run. If he goes there, I may never see him again. I will give it a little more time and then back to training.
P.S. sorry about the numbers and the math. This is the first year I have ever kept track and it is kind of enlightening...to me at least.

you guys are hilarious, liontrackers name should be inspector gadget
Re: You Might Not Believe This One...
I wouldn't want to scare one of those nomadic toms either LT. You just keep them dogs chained in the back of your truck. I'm headin out again in a couple days and see if I can find a track every 3.6750 times out. It rained night before last on all this snow we had so it ought to be a real treat. I'll have to have LT's tracking skills now. Look for frost flakes bent over and such. Good luck everyone
Re: You Might Not Believe This One...
Sounds like your gonna need my secret weapon Catman, Hold on right here and i'll run get him.....Booooy when you unload that sucker and wait for his epeleptic fits to subside and get him rigged into his doggy wheel chair, you just need to stand back and watch him go! He can "wheel" down a track at 14.7896 miles per hour! You'll know when he's jumnped cause he'll pop a wheelie in that chair and bump it right on up to about 18.6395, wont be long then and you'll hvae ya a treed lion......old faithful will be right there havin a fit and workin out the kinks in his hips under the tree ill garuntee it!!!

The fascination of hunting cougar with hounds lies in the discovery and unravelling of a complicated trail, watching an honest hound strike out on a track that has been found and read, and finally bringing the animal to bay so that you can see it for yourself---Jerry A. Lewis

houndcrzy
You might want to look at what your feeding that hound. I heard from a famous houndsman that no matter what problems your having....its in the feed. Yup I bet you change from Black gold to Ol roy and the seizures will quit and epileptic fits will stop. Then you might get up to 20.265 MPH but where your in Canada you'll have to covert that over to KPH and I ain't sure how fast that is, but it will make a difference. You may not believe it but it will
