4 wheeler tire
Need to get some tires for my new to me 4 wheeler and am looking for suggestion. I bought it earlier this past year and I decided I really need a better set of tires. I Know what I like on my trucks, but I am new to 4 wheelers. Thanks!!
Re: 4 wheeler tire
This is something that I am interested in as well. I don't care if they look cool, I want them to get me there and back.
My main concern is winter time. What do people recommend for variable snow conditions with a loaded down wheeler? These new rigs are HEAVY! Plus add an overweight guy, a couple dogs, and equipment...Are wider tires better or more of a hinderance?
Tire chains? Any concern about wear and tear?
What about studded tires like the ITP Tundracross?

WELL I WORK IN A MOTORCYCLE SHOP AND I AM A MECHANIC HERE. IN MY OPINION ITP TIRES ARE WAY OVER PRICED FOR WHAT U GET. IF U DO GO WITH ITP GO WITH A RADIAL FOR SURE. THE MUDLIGHTS FROM WHAT I SEE GET FLATS ALL THE TIME AND WHERE OUT QUICK. FOR HARD SURFACE I WOULD SAY THE BAJA TIRE THAT ITP MAKE IS A GOOD TIRE AND IS EIGHT PLY BUT IT IS SPENDY. CST IS A CHEAP TIRE AND THEY ARE PRETTY DECENT MUD TIRE.

You can't go wrong with a set of Bighorn Maxxis, there do well in snow and mud. I have a set for my Griz, and another friend has them on his polaris rzr, they are great tires. 26x8x12 fronts, 26x10x12 rears, is one size up from stock.

Re: 4 wheeler tire
depends on the terrain your going to be driving. for winter/snow/ice conditions, the best combination is a good mud tire with screw in ice studs. i ran some mud lites with 1" heat treated ice studs in the lugs, close to 500 of them. it was awesome in the deep snow and ice. my next set will be swamp lites and i will pprobably stud them as well.
