Re: males or females ?
I run both males and females. Females are a pain if they aren't fixed, but I like hunting them more than males. The best all around hound I've ever seen on bears and cats was a female. Just my two cents worth.
Re: males or females ?
i have 3 females and 4 males. all fixed except for two , but they cant get pregnant with no balls around to do it and it is way easier to buy a couple pups from some one than raise a litter living in city limits . it is all about self control lol!

I hear Warner Glenn runs all females - spayed.
I like how quick females come on.

Everyone is saying females start earlier and handle better but with my pups that i have now my male started first and is way easier to handle and listens way better. so i think it just depends on the dog. but i have 2 females and 1 male
Scrath that 1 female and 1 male just sold the female cause the Male is by far a better dog so far they are only 5 months old

I have about 50/50 right now but i prefer females. less BS to put up with. I cut all my males except 1 for future breeding.

i agree that females are smarter and easier to train. i have a littermate brother and sister and she's a much better dog.
