Is there any product out that actually helps protect the dogs feet while running in snow?

Mushers wax or something like that is what I have used with varying degrees of success. It seems to work, but wears off.

The biggest problem I have is the blistering around the dogs toe nail. I have found no product nor any amount of conditioning to have any effect in preventing this, or even an effective treatment after the fact.

I use this stuff called Pad Heal. It comes in a small bottle, and have found it at Gander Mtn. It has a brush in it as well to brush it on there feet. I havent had any of my dogs feet blister and it helps to seal up the cuts they get on the pads and between the toes. A friend of mine uses Hoof Heal. It is the excat same stuff just in a bigger bottle. He found it at Tractor Supply in the horse section. This works really well for me and something you might want to look into.

Keep their toenails clipped and use Musher's Secret. Put it on and let it dry. I mean don't just put it on and turn them loose straight out in the snow.

Maybe that was my problem. I don't run my dogs in the snow that much, but when i would take em out of the box I would smear some of it on and let them go. I'll try to let it dry next time. Thanks for the info.

pad heal all the way. brush it on and let them go. my dogs havent had sore feet yet this year in the snow

Like bigfoot said. There is nothing that is going to help the problems around the nails where the skin meets the pads. Never have a problem with the pads of the dogs. So putting something on the pads is a waste of money when the problem is above the pads. Even more fun when icy crust forms on deeper snow. Then the shins start to get cut up. Again nothing that can be done about that either.
