Well.. Yesterday I decided it was a good day to skip biology (since I also was not working) and go hunting.. My brother has the week off and also thought it was a good idea..

It was still snowing a bit, but we thought oh well we are going to see what we can do.. I had just gotten into the area where I can turn dogs loose, hadn't even collared up dogs yet when Eric says "There is a a track coming out of that culvert."

I admit, I held my breath as I drove up to it and there it was.. a bit melted out.. but no snow in it yet.. a bobcat track.. So I backed down the road about 75 yards.. Pulled the dogs out to collar and let them clean out.. Throwing Brisco and Jane on the box I drove back up to the track..

Brisco saw the track and jumped down when I stopped.. It was cold enough he didn't give me the ol "I can run it" squeek (yeah he squeeks).. But he took it down and crossed the creek.. He was having a hard time with it in all the brush.. so I thought he might need a little competition.. I dropped Jane down..

She went bailing over the creek and started cutting back and forth.. She opened once.. Brisco went up above her and started cutting around.. He opened once.. Then they started drifting and cutting into the track opening as they went..

I'm prettty sure I did my happy dance :D

They took it straight up the mountian.. litterally (we went from 2300ft to where they caught it at 3500ft) I couldn't hear them because of the creek, even though I knew they were up the canyon.. I watched on the Garmin (yes, my now favorite toy) as they ran it in a loop (well Brisco- Jane's collar quite updating) and treed it.. Took them about an hour to put it up..

I busted thru some roads trying to figure out where the easiest walk into them would be.. Finally we decided the easiest on us would be to drive to the road that wraps around the mountain and walk that old road out instead of heading straight up like they did.. Took us about 45 minutes to get the dogs into hearing.. Once we did it only took us about 20 minutes to get to where we wanted to climb up.. Then about 30 minutes to climb the 80 yards needed

Took us a bit to find it in the tree.. But there it was..

Thanks all.. it felt good LOL.. With all the elk hunters, then deer hunters, then elk hunters, then deer hunters, then elk hunters again (pretty sure I covered it all) I've been kinda laying low.. I hate seeing other people in the woods  Now hopefull we can get serious..

Brett.. That's exactly where I was at LOL

Nice! thanks for the great pictures.

You forgot to mention the elk hunters ha ha.

No trappers?

Nor crazy animal rights activists?

It was a good day

Thanks again for the pictures
