Interesting morning and afternoon behind the black and tan

Post by ledge bellar »

Me and my friend took our dogs out this morning, saw some cat tracks from last night and tried to walk them out, thicker then heck where we were, didn't get any of the tracks going.

Later we split off as he had priorities to attend to, we located a decent track crossing the road heading into some ledges. He took off and I went for a walk, as soon as I hit the ledges I found cat beds, and it didn't take long before my dog started opening, he ran up and over some ledges headed south 300 yards then back down the ledges west 100 yards, then north 300 yards and then west cat doing a fgure 8, when he went west with the dog slowly behind him he started tho head south again and I was waiting. I shot at this cat 3 times with my shotgun and could not hit him, then it occured to me that I was using 3in. 12 guage 7 1/2 shot which was about worthless, anyways the cat went into a hole!!! Lovely feeling hahah, he will live another day.

I just gotta say thou, you guys that run these cat for 8 hours and over miles and miles, makes me wonder what kind of cat you guys got in front of your dogs, I know in this deep snow, the dogs going just slow enough to not push him out of the area... I have ran 5 cats with my dog so far and non of them have gone over a mile distance, There must be some Cold nosed dogs out there to run the distances that you guys talk about on here.

Happy Hunting
