i hunt with for dog one old three younger dogs! put just my old dog out with my other best male cold trailed a bob for about 45min then across a creek got hot the treed! seen the tracks of the cat in the slush really small! lookd for an hour in the tree and around in other trees the old man was lockd down on sapling and chewing bark like crazy neverd had nothing in a tree with him if hes chewing bark!! any ideas!!!! and this was all on dry ground except the creek crossing and the road had ice and slush!!

Are you saying you couldn't find the cat in the tree? If you're anything like me, I wouldn't worry about it if this is the only time you couldn't find it. Them little boogars can hide good. If this happens again and/or starts happening regularly, I'd figure out what is going on.
