Hi Ryan, good to here from you.Sory I missed your call the day you left.Give Andrew a call he has a story for you. To long to tell on here. We almost lost Tank the other night.Ran a cat across a bunch of blow down going across McDowel cr.right at a water fall.Tank tried to cross and fell in over the water fall and got flushed under a log jam .Andrew spotted him just as he went under the logs.We had to get to the other side to try to get to him. When we got there we coudnt find him.We got a call on the radio he was back at the truck.Must have got flushed out the other side.I bet you have some storys buy now. We tried to find Holly a bull.No luck though typycal coast rifle season wet wet wet and snow mixed in this year so wet and cold.Holly did good .If you can scounge up a couple of 219 tracking collars I can take your dogs out for you.I dont have enough for my young pups yet they are about ready to start hunting. Andrew took a job working weekends on a farm.He isnt to happy about it.Kind of limits his hunting to school nights above the house and following us around for a few hours on fri. nights then going to work on little sleep.I will have to remind him. He could be in your shoes not hunting at all.I apreciate what your doing over there. We will keep you in our prayers.Have a Merry Christmas if I dont get to talk to you.Stay safe,Larry

Ryan let me tell it like it is on the Oregon coast its been RAIN,RAIN and more RAIN.I've been out a few times and my Triggs nailed a few bobs also went down south and ran and treed some Gray Fox I have a 35' telescoping pole to jump them out of those oaks man do the dogs go nuts when that fox starts bouncing down the limbs heading out. I want to thank you for going to Iraq my son was there and its your efforts that allow all of us to do what we love to do in this great nation. " IF YOU CAN READ THIS THANK A TEACHER,IF ITS IN ENGLISH THANK A SOLDIER ". Good luck and stay safe.

Hey Ryan,
I have a good friend over sees as well I hope everything is going good and you guys are safe.

As for the hunting, I hunt out of Prairie City mostly and its been a good year for me so far. The few few cats a guy woulda thought they were coons as fast as they went up but ive been getting into some runners lately. The second to last cat I treed over here was a jumped race for 4 miles according to the gps. I got to see where it had crossed the road running and diggin his crawls in. Than he made the mistake of tryin to climb up out of the canyon and the dogs nailed him. He weighed out at 27.5 lbs. Last weekend a few buddies and I headed over to Idaho to meet up with a guy and do some lion hunting. Well let me tell you the odds were against us big time lol. We got over there and all the snow was melted and everything was muddy as heck. We were able to get a strike off the box from a young dog and we turned out. They went down into the draw and go to the creek and the race was on. They jumped that cat up and it ran for the its life lol. I'll make a long story short. It ended up being a bobcat and that thing dusted us pretty good lol. They chased it for a while and the race finally ended up in big rock bluff so we rounded up the dogs and headed out to find another one. We drove around for the rest of the night and the next day with nothing getting started. All in all it was a fun hunt and we are going back in a week to get our revenge lol. Hope this helped to pass the time. Stay safe, come back and run the hell outta some cats !!

thanks southern dix i really enjoyed the storry and just hope one day i can have a cat story like that. but i guess that would mean that the millitary would have to allow me to be around for a season because since i got my 2 hounds (luke and bell) i havent got a chance to really go hunting with them. but before i enlisted i got to catch the tell end of 2009 season with larry beggs and his son andrew. I must say i am glad to have friends like them and when i get home i hope i can go elk hunting with them. also i will be looking for a cat dog that can help my dogs out and help teach them to strike of the boxes. while got to go for now but keep the stories comeing.
