Bleeding/swolen penis after breeding

Stud dog was locked up with female and upon seperation his penis started bleeding quite a bit. The bleeding stopped by morning and then about noon I checked on him and his penis is swollen and unsheathed. 24 hours have gone by and still swollen an unsheathed. I have a vet appointment this afternoon and was wondering if anybody has gone through this and what was the outcome?
