Hi everyone

Post by Alibata »

Hi my name is Paul. I am a dog man more so than anything. I have always been interested in using my dog for the purpose of hog hunting. I am a big fan of the show hogs gone wild on the t.v. I have never hunted anything before in my life, I don't even know where to start. I don't know anyone that does it but I am very interested. I am hoping this message board can point me in the right direction of getting closer to making this a reality rather then just a fantasy.

I am in Southern California. Los Angeles County. I am willing to drive 2-3 hours and buy the equipment needed to get started. Just need a mentor.. I have 2 dogs that need to be schooled on a hog. My male is a 1 year old Tosa that may be able to work with females. My other is a Tosa mix rescue that could make a good bay dog as she is not as game but extremely athletic and long winded. My male has been screaming to be put on something live. I feel obliged to give it to him. I don't believe in dog fighting although with 8 generations of national yokozuna fighting champions on both sides of his pedigree hog hunting just might cure his itch. I have also been very interested for the longest time when I had a my american bulldog but just never knew how to even start so just watched videos and admired the dogs doing it from afar. I have heard of one other person, Jami Long of southern Kennels who has put his Tosa on a hog. I guess I might be wishfully thinking posting in this forum but you never know, someone might actually take me seriously.
