I agree, they've sure got it figured out. I just need to figure out the hunting season thing. Would be nice to hunt cats down here all winter and somewhere north in the summer. If you figure it out let me know, I'm all ears. By the way those are nice pictures.
I like my winters here. I do feel your pain though. this has been a weird winter here and gotten chilly a few times. migration doesn't sound bad. summers can be nasty here and i do miss the beauty of the northern summers. here most of the time the seasons seem the same in the lower country. those are some nice pics. what are the roans bloodlines?
I not sure how the roan is bred. That horse belongs to a friend of mine, I'll ask him when I go help him this spring. The pics were taken on his ranch last spring/summer.
While you guys are in the 90's, drinking cold ones in the shade, I'm still plugging in my truck at night, and the horses are fuzzed up and still wearing their winter hair.
Reminds me of a story a guy I used to punch cows with in AZ told me: He got a phone call from a friend who had been working on a ranch in northern Nevada and was now looking for a job. The NV guy was now in AZ. My friend asked him why he left. The guy told him he got sick of the cold winter. He dressed in his Elmer Fud hat, goggles, scarf, heavy coat, chinks, snow boots and gators.....and started driving south. He kept driving until he stopped for gas and people looked at him funny for the way he was dressed. He was in the AZ desert and figured if people had never seen all that cold weather gear, he was probably far enough south!
