Leaving dogs out overnight?
How do you guys feel about leaving dogs out? We do it quit a bit coon huntin but it seems like it takes twice as long to find them the next day opposed to just finding that night.

I think a good handle keeps this to a minimum I don't leave hounds out unless it's treed and i can't get to it period. I try to get them home every time. hounds can get stolen real easy off a tree or trying to find their way home. most hounds get in trouble when they are out alone I also think it weakens their tree endurance if they start worrying about getting home. I need a hound with confidence that i will show up at the tree not one that gets lost in the mountains. the advantage of free casting hounds all the time is they learn to back track themselves and you to get out safely
