Idaho Coon Hunting Dogs

Post by kc1979 »

These pupps were whelped on 03/13/11. Parents are great cold nosed, proven dogs. This is going to be a very good mix. Parents are great COONDOGS. I've personally hunted them many times and seen them tree plenty of coon. They're not afraid to get in the swamp or stickery brush and tree a coon. Though they haven't hunted anything but coon, I think either of the parents would make very decent big game dogs, both have all of the quality's needed.

Bluetick father is a bigger blocky dog, about 75 lbs. Has a bawl mouth on track, good locate, and very loud bawl on tree. He's out of well known Somkey River Diamond Jim. Walker mother is a medium built, athletic dog, about 65 lbs. She's got a nice chop mouth all the way to the tree and very game driven.

Those are some fine looking hounds you have there. Tree a lot of coons with them?

Yes we have had a lot of coons in a tree with this pair of hounds. The female walker is the fastest dog I have owned and the male bluetick is just a real go-get-er

Just curious about the dad, do you know who the breeder was? How old is he? He looks like a pup that was born here a few years ago. Probably not, but just wondering. Thanks

Pretty sure he was born here in the Treasure Valley of Id. He is heavy S.R Diamond Jim as you can tell by looking at him. He comes out of Les Mitchell's dogs, Rupert, Id.

Roger that, I had a real nice littler of bluetick pups a few years ago that were heavy Diamond Jim and 4 of them went to Idaho. This male had similar markings on his head as one of those pups. Didn't figure it was from that litter. Probably has some of the same blood flowing through his veins though. Nice looking bluetick anyways.
