what to do???

Post by robbyson99 »

im just looking for a bit of guidence on this situation. not looking to start a pissing match and i am not going to throw any names out. i live in maine. i sent a deposit of 300 dollars to a guy for a hound 3 years ago sometime in january. he told me he was having a litter in april of that year. i never heard from him. sometime that summer i called him and he said that she never got bred and was going to be having 2 more litters sometime that year or soon after that. again never heard from the guy. i talked to him and he said that one litter only had one pup and the other litter all died. ok and i understand that shit happens and dont think any thing of it. at that point i figured ill ask for my deposit back and go on my ways. he says yes and would get it out to me. nothing for months and months. i contact him again and he says yes ill get the deposit back to you. again i get nothing and this has now been going on for 3 years now. i dont know if deposits are a touchy subject because i dont buy alot of hounds. i didnt back out until 2 years went by and i still had no pup. if he had just told me no i couldnt get the deposit back i would have cut my losses but hes been telling me yes for a year now. should i just let it go or keep trying to talk to the guy? i just dont understand and will never make another deal with someone over the internet. again im just looking for a bit of guidence on this.

thanks fellas

Sounds to me like the no account lying SOB never entended to keep his word. At this point, a well placed moltave cocktail, having burned down his pickup, should get his attention! I hate lying sumbitches!!!

Was $300 the totol price of the pup or part of the totol. Why don't you want to expose this guy. Sounds like he needs a reality check if in fact you are telling the truth. Does he live far away from you?

i live in maine. hes out west. im not the kinda fella to talk shit about someone unless im lookin at him. the 300 was the deposit and the pup 600 total. it was for a cameron. this is the truth. i almost feel like i shouldnt of asked for my deposit back because i dont know if its proper etiquette in the hound world. i just emailed him my address a few months ago AGAIN and got a response with "yes ill get the money to you in a few weeks" i havent seen it yet. it just frusrates me that there are some people out there that dont have morales!!!!!!

He didn't hold up his end of the deal.. You should get your deposit back..

Its different if YOU back out.. then yeah I think you forefit your deposit.. even tho I think $300 is pretty steep for a deposit..

I personally don't think anyone should accept/ask for deposits on pups not born..

Robyson : " PROPER ETIQUETE IN THE HOUND WORLD " I think there are Too many internet dog jockeys out there . I would defineately EXPOSE the guy . Did you ask for his out of state references ? Did you call them ? Was your intent to purchase based on the Cameron name ? Any hound is a PRODUCT . What would you do if you ordered something and never received it ? Sorry for the loss ,I'm sure your intentions were good.

expose this guy please! he will have a chance to defend his self and if he don't maybe you will save the next guy the same trouble you are going through.

If in 3 years he couldn't make it right with a pup, then I'd be asking for a deposit.

I don't refund deposits. But I only ask for enough money on a deposit to cover shots, worming, microchip and Registration fees. So about $75-100, depending on total of the pup cost. And I WILL allow a person to tranfer a deposit to another litter, and will make right by it.

I also agree its not right to accept deposits on pups not born. Thats always been a rule of mine, and one I broke on my last litter. I accepted one deposit before they were born, on a litter I had a lot of hopes for and homes lined up. What ended up happening is one of my very close friends didn't get the pup they wanted because one of the pups died at birth, and there wasn't enough females, as I had already sold one. I had already taken that deposit, so I just couldn't tell the person no, so then my friend was left hanging, and stuck with a male. I could have refunded it, but thats a real shady thing to do to someone when they are wanting somethng that bad, and pays you for something... On a side note, that male pup my friend didn't want (but took anyways) is the best in the litter, so they are happy too.

Cassandra,
The difference between your dealings and the deal that Corey describes is INTEGRITY. That's why others need to do their homework and know who they're dealing with!

After 3 years I would have no problem telling the whole world about this ass wipe. Deposits are ment to hold a dog/pup for someone, and are generally non refundable. But it is only to make sure the seller isn't left holding the bag when the person decides they cant get the dog/pup. Now I don't know how he/she can be taking deposits on a litter that hasn't even been born yet, one he/she doesn't know how many in the litter or how many males and females. Good luck I think you can kiss that money good by.

your not the one in the wrong here that is your hard earned money for nothing in return ,but empty promises over three years .his breeding program failed supposedly. yes it happens ,but you cant hold others responsible for your failure to produce any kind of product.heak in three years you could have raised, and trained quite a few hounds.this guy obviously has no plans of sending you your money cause that could of been done pretty quickly with todays technologies. how is stateing his name ,and the way he is doing buisness wrong if it is the truth?

well. at some point last year he did offer me a pup but if i remember correctly it was of another up coming litter. at that point i told him that i was all set and wanted my money back. i can remember all the details. it started out by him saying he would have pups by april but wanted the deposit by that january or february. i never contacted him again until i think may asking about the pups. his response was the female never took. and it all went down hill. i kept most of my private messages. i do remember somewhere in there him and i talking about replacing my spot on his list for a pup and then he would send me my deposit back. i said that would work out perfect. i didnt hear from him for a few months so i got in touch with him again. he said something along the lines of i think i have someone and ill get ya the money. nothing. it just went back and forth now for a long time. the last time i contacted him was a few months ago and he said he would get the money out to me in a few weeks and never did. it was tim (liontracker)

Oh holy sh%t!!! what a surprise. when you told this story the first thing I thought was dejavu from the last three people that tim burned. I hate to take sides here, but after you burn so many people on deposits you need to be culled! man up tim and start keepin your word or refunding some money. hell sakes man isn't your word worth more than 300 dollars? or are you too busy chasin the nike mom and the red runner and glassing up tracks from 2000 yards to deal with the guy. I guess before we get a rope and linch you, lets here your side.
