Running of Baits ??

So I have heard a few guys talk about runin off of baits for bear, so were is that legal? What kinda of bait do they use in the spring? I have never hunted bear before and I was just curious as to what they use and how its done.

In Wisconsin and Michigan I know it is legal to run off baits. Wisconsin from july till october Michigan is like august till I think october ad well. I use bread grease for most of summer then kill season add cookies chocolate covered cherries. Doughnuts sugar cones.

it`s legal here in ny also. all i ever use is sweet feed from the grain store.

so sweet in the spring huh, do you change any thing in the fall? What kind of barrel does anyone prefer?
