Down here in Nv. if you let a big tom go chances are you will never get to see him again. Too many guys will kill them so a good cat is a dead cat. Tags are over the counter 2 at a time so quality is rare.

Unfortunatly we have the same problem here where a good tom is hard to find. Most cats around here are not given the chance to grow to maturity. Our cat population was hurting for some time and just has started to come back the past couple of years. I tend to hunt a few areas that have few other hunters, and know that the tom will make it a few years as long as he doesn't travell to far. I'm sure that anyone with a tag in our area would be happy shooting a 130 pound tom, so one like this wouldn't last long if he was found.
He made it through this winter and I'll be looking foreward to catching him again next Dec.

Hey R......MThounder, that is definatly a dandy cat and Im glad to here he made it through the winter. I know the frustration of leaving a nice tom in the tree then two days later he gets whacked in the next drainage, of course that don't happen much anymore, not many cats left to "whack" out there anymore.

Thanks for sharing the pictures, and glad to here your cat #s have picked up. Maybe next season I'll have to head west so you can show me how it's done.

Your a good man! I have shot one cat in my life time and treed almost 275. He looked like a large young cat. But large enough. Hopefully he will make some babys before next season. Thanks for sharing the pictures.
