hood rigging

Post by chad85 »

i was wondering how everyone rigs on the hood is it possible to make a big piece of fabric the length of the hood and be able to take it on and off by some straps under the hood. then u can sew some d rings real real tight with alot of thread to the fabric instead of putting a eye bolt through the hood. this way u dont mess the hood up and u dont have to get a spare hood to put on and off cause that would be a pain in the balls im just tryn to get some ideas for rigging

X2 on the johnsons upolsrty he does some great work. All of the real hood rugs I have seen are made without putting an I-bolt through the hood. And many are very easy to take on and off. The thing that you want to remember is if you leave it off to long they are a pain in the back side to get back on.

all joking aside , the dogs may strike the same from the box or the hood but if their on the hood you can watch them and it gives YOU a chance to learn something from your dog

my best rig dog goes from the top of the cab to the tailgate. 70 % of the time she is on the tailgate. keeps the cold wind off her i guess. i just put that sticky stuff for skate boards on the cab of my truck for trackion.

Yep sounds about right, I know some of the newer rigs it runs a little more then older rigs due to hood size. His are made out of some very high quality marine carpet too. It not just some cheap crap, I was talking about this same stuff on a post a while back. I know a guy that used that same marine carpet on top of his dog box and its been on there for 20-25 yrs.
