found this bear track in my father in laws driveway, could only find this one track the rest had been stomped out by horses, and four wheelers. Seeing the look on my sister in laws face when we told her it was 50 yards from her bedroom window was great!
not trying to be a dck, but that is the first bear track I have ever seen with only 4 toes? are you sure it was a bear? I'm not saying you don't know, but that picture don't even look remotely close to a bear track. I'm not trying to start a pissin match here, but I'm sure I'm not the only one thinking this. looks like a giant dog track to me?????
"Houndn'Ems Blueticks" if it smells like a cat, they'll catch it.
dont know any dogs that got feet that wide around our place, maybe though, it looks wide to me and with as much stuff going through there the other toe looks wiped out.
well and I hope you don't take me the wrong way on that too. If it is a bear track, get some dogs up there and have some fun!!!!! not trying to take anything away from you.

Well, not sure what that is but I'd bet against it being a bear. And I am FAMOUS for trying to convince others that smudge/pad is a bear when my dogs are running it. It's a little tougher with hooved critters though.
there was some bear up here killing sheep last year and we seen tracks in the fall near the house so we figure its probably the same bear we saw. Im no master tracker but i will be looking for somthing this weekend!
Give it a whirl, but I'm still pretty sure it's not a bear. The toes need to be more in a straight line. Now if the track is turned, the one good visable toe is turned the wrong direction.
I'm used to looking at dink 3 1/2" to up to 6" in tracks. The width of a man's boot is usually pretty close to 4", the toe in the pic is too large for a 4" bear track. Just my opinion.
i would have to make some tracks under her window i couldnt resist having three sister in laws myself any chance to pull one over on them is a good time.
My father in law found it first and showed me, there was another track that got hit by a wheeler that was a very good track. this one is in a horse track. I dont think you find many "perfect" tracks. This aint a dog, it aint a lion, it sure as hell aint a horse so what could it be.
you said it was in a horse track im gonna go with the evidence and say the horse had something stuck to his foot that mimicked a track mud. pebbles ,what have you. i dont know horseshit from cowshit when it comes to them getting stuff stuck to their foot, but the fact that it is in a horse track leads me to believe its a possibility.other than that im gonna say scoobydoo .
when my dogs are running on mud, they leave some pretty big tracks--big enough so my neighbors think we are getting regular visits from all sorts of mythical creatures. If the horse print accumulated some water, than a dog stepped in the puddle, it could spread out pretty big. On the other hand, I do have some pretty big bears in my back yard. I'm pretty sure that's why my husband lets the hounds sleep in the bed with us. The dogs have run bears off our front porch more than once.
