Tomorrow is the big day!
Tomorrow is the big day!
I cant wait, tomorrow is the opening of bear season for hounds here. I cant wait to see how my boys, the Blues Brothers, Jake and Elwood do. They are ready, both are striking on bears, just havnt been able to turn them out yet. I should have some good pictures tomorrow night, we have been getting a ton of strikes, the bears are deffinitely out here.

Good luck ferjr! Those dogs look good and ready to go, as do you. How dose your 4 wheeler work with the tracks? We went to look today, but it will be a couple 3 weeks down here. I dont know if my boy can hold out that long, hes chomping at the bit hard core.
Good luck.
Good luck.

Howie is doing great! We turned him out today he ran in the lead with Jethro, they got on a bear that wouldnt tree, bayed him up three times. We ran Howie, Sadie, Striker, Jethro, another plott named Nickle, and one of my pups, Jake. Jake did really well, he ran with them for along time before he lost the track, but he did work his way back to the truck, I was impressed that I didnt have to go get him. The other 5 got in to it with the bear some time, three out of the five are now injured, Striker got bit in the chest, he has some pretty nasty wounds and was bleeding out of his nose, I hope he is going to be alright, Jethro got swatted on the head and got a big gash, and Nickles got hit in the back and has a pretty big gash. The only ones that didnt get hurt was Howie and Sadie and of course my pup, but he didnt make it to the bay up, it was the first time he has ever been turned out. Not a good way to start the season!

Re: Tomorrow is the big day!
I'm with you there ferjr. But I guess I can't say that. First off I was late getting meeting some other guys, the old yota just doesn't have the poop any more to hall a four wheeler, dirt bike, dog box with four dogs and 2 fat guys
we didn't strike any thing... then when I got home I put the dogs in there dog pen ( I couldent take my redtick cuz she is in heat. I have it split in to females on one side males on the other so when I left I opened the gate opening it up to bolth sides so she could have free roam of all of it). I had my back turned for litteraly one maybe 2 min. And my plott and the redtick were locked up. I didn't think it could happen that quick. But let's look at the good side the dogs didn't trash on any thing and it was awsome just getting out in the woods. So even a bad day out hunting is better than a good day at work or at home.ferjr hope all your dogs get better. Nice job at least running one. Good luck to every one the rest of the season!!

shouldn't that dog driving the white dodge keep his eyes on the road? that looks more dangerous then texting while driving. good luck with the blues brothers. we have two long months to wait. keep us posted.
