Thanks! We didnt kill him, we let the dogs raise hell for a little while, took a bunch of pictures, and then pulled the dogs off and let him go. I figure we will get to run him again, as long as someone else doesnt shoot him. :beer

i myself would have put a bullet in that bear. i'm glad ya'll feel the need to shoot with a camera but the game populations need to be kept in check. if that one would have been a small bear i would have let it walk too but maybe i'm spoiled in the bear population we have. we are on the verge of gaining another tag per person just to try and keep the word nuisance away from their name. we are implamented kill tags for a reason. plus they are pretty good in a stew or bar b que. we have such a large pursuit season and short kill seasons we have to take alot to keep them from bringing in outside sources to keep them in check.

We dont have alot of bears here, like we did awhile back. We had a really long winter this year and I beleive it took a tole on the bears we did have. Last year we treed about 40 bear and only killed one, my brother wanted to shoot one, we let all the rest go. If all the hound hunters here was to kill a bear every time they treed one we wouldnt have any bear to run. We are deffinitely not over populated here like you guys are, I wish we were. I enjoy running them, I dont eat them, I cant stand the taste of bear, the only reason I would have to shoot one would be to mount it. We will get to run that bear again, unless someone else shoots him, we ran that same bear last year only it was during pursuit season and we couldnt shoot him. :beer
