got out for a hunt
Thought I would take the dogs out for a hunt see if they could find a coon or somethin. I probably saw a dozen coons cross the road in the 30 minute drive to where i wanted to hunt. Was hopin to find a cat. I checked 5 or six spots dogs hunted good but didnt strike anything, till the last spot whiskey treed a coon. decided to head home and 10 minutes from the house a bobcat crossed the road in front of me. I did what every guy knows he shouldnt do and dumped the box. All four hit the track screamin. It was a good race for a mile and a half, but dogs lost him in an old cedar tree row. They used to plant those things with trees 5 feet apart, and they are a jungle! I lose a lot of cats in these things. All and all it was a good night and I think most of my dogs still have bobcats on their minds. I snapped a pic of whiskey on the coon tree.

Ryan,
Just saw this. Glad to see your shaking the rust out of those dogs. For crying out loud, you've got a crap-load of coon down there. I wish we had half the game you do. You should think about looking for a rig dog that is straight on cats. I think that would really help keep you in the cats. Of course, with how many coon you have you should just keep one dog just coon and break all of the others off of them. That way you could still pull in a coon check in the fall and beat the hell out of the cats in the winter. If I don't get side tracked this winter, I'll be down fora visit.
