Stopped at a gas station this morning in Springville, Utah and took this picture with my phone as I was walking out to my truck. Trailer is full of dead deer, road kill pick-ups I would guess. A company truck, probably contracted to remove deer from the road sides.
And one of them was a damn nice buck already... had thick heavy bases and was going to be a real dandy by August. Based on the condition of the deer when I saw them, all recent kills... not bloated, stinking, etc... They probably pile a stack on that trailer like this photo a couple of times a week, who knows?
Yup, those mountain lions are wiping them out.
I wonder how many deer a year get killed in Utah by vehicles? I have to think after seeing this trailer today it's probably a much bigger number than I thought.
