puppy malfunction
5 month old walker pup. loves to use his nose.chaises house cat alll over the ranche.but freaked him the hell out wen i showed him a coon in a trap.i also had three other dogs screeming at it.so wats the best way to ease him into the coon in a trap. i no he will open up on it i just dnt wnt to force it and scare him away.wats you imput

I would try a coonhide or a dead coon. Get him goin with that then try again with a smaller coon and if he dosent come around just wait till he's a little older. Your right u don't wanna force it. Good luck!

you want him to learn to chase after it and make it a game try hooking the coon tale to a fishing pole stiff enough that you can cast it .so he follows the tail and not you to the raccoon tail ,you can control the speed and teaches him to use his nose too . i agree with every one else its not worth it to force it on him he dont get fired up try him when he is older
