true or false?

now i have this therory about dragging a dead coon or coon hide for training purpasis.now it seems to me if u take a dead cold coon and drag it for any amount of distance and hang it in a tree wouldnt the trail start out hot and end cold mimiking a back track.which in my experience is not a habbit you wnt your young dog startin. true or fale or am i just parinoid?think about it.

your absolutely right about that theory. drag it backwards and then pack it back and hang it in the tree. no amount of draggin is gona teach a hound much about trailin real game. I M O.

Peep, you can teach a dog a lot about handling. You can teach him practically NOTHING about trailing....it is genetic. That is not to say that he will not get better with exposure and experience. Of course he will. Just take him hunting with good company.

Great answer briarpatch! firm beleiver in teaching dogs to handle, when they have the handle, they want to please! imo
