SUPER MEGA FAIL!!!!!!

Its not a dog hunt but its good for a laugh.

Its 11pm, just got home. I took my good friend Ron down to the ranch for an evening hunt to try to get him a hog. First off let me say that it didnt start off well from the get go. On the way down there a truck going the opposite direction kicked up a big rock and put a nice crack in my wind shield. The crack gradually grew into a long streak across my field of vision by the time we showed up.

Now my friend Ron is one of my best friends. However we dont really get along. We have a friendship that will stand the test of time but we argue like a married couple. Before we got there I told him where the herd of hogs were coming from and how I wanted to set up at the pond where they come to drink. Of course he didnt listen to a thing I said and wanted to go the opposite direction I wanted. We never made it to the place I wanted to set up.

I attempted to lead Ron to the spot but every time I told him to follow he simply would put his binoculars to his face and glass. I know he does this on purpose. We are very competitive and neither of us will follow the direction of the other for spite.

We are a few hundred yards from where I wanted to set up when the golden hour arrived. A nice big boar came down the opposite hillside. The wind was of course not in our favor because we were in the wrong spot. Ron heads out to wherever he thinks is best and I go my way. He is a hundred yards away from me and the hog emerges just below me in a open draw less than 20 yards away. I freeze. After a moment the hog began to move and all I could do to get rons attention was to point at the hog and not move.

After a few minutes Ron finally looked over and figured out what I was trying to tell him. The wind was blowing directly in the hogs favor and it was begining to get bits and pieces of his sent. Ron crested the small hill he was on and was presented with the easiest shot in history. Wide open, still, broadside and less than 20 yards. Bang, right over the top of its back. The hog ran around the edge of the small hill and Ron fired 2 more shots missing them both. The hog ran over the hill across from us. Ron muttered something about having only one shell left and ran after the hog disapearing over the hill with it. I walked up to the hill where he took his shot and sat there completely discusted.

Now this is the part where I have my head up my ***. As I was sitting there waiting for Ron to come back I began to hear something. It was the herd coming down to the pond where I wanted to origionaly set up. The last time I saw this herd it was roughly 25 to 30 hogs. This herd was almost twice the size. There was a good 50-60 hogs coming down and I DIDNT BRING MY GUN! I have a habit or superstition about not bring my gun when I take my friends rifle hunting. Historically when I take friends to shoot hogs they seem to be more succesful or more hogs show up if I leave my gun in the rig. I dont care to shoot them anyhow. I prefer to run em with the dogs.

Well Ron was long gone over the hill and there I was. I ran back to my rig as fast as I could. My polaris was 800-1000 yards away over a hill. I ran there in record time, loaded my pistol (all I brought was my pistol) and ran back. By the time I got there it was practicaly dark. All I could see was the backs of the hogs in single file moving away happily in the tall grass after their evening drink from the pond where I WANTED TO SET UP IN THE FIRST PLACE!!!!!!

On the ride out in the dark, 3 pigs cross in front of my polaris ranger. Ron begs me to stop. I kept going and didnt say a word.

you both need to use reverse psycology on each other.or bring a third person along to change the vote. i have a friend that wants everything painted his way as well .it drives me crazy.
