Post by houndcrazy93 »

hey i want to go up to British coulumbia and run my dogs, because i only live about 30 miniutes or so from the border, and it would be a lot cheeper on gas to go over the borderthan drive to idaho or orgean, so i was wondering how much it costs for an out of country hunting tags, and what all you guys can run over there, also do you know anything about bring guns over the border, and any other information wold be greatly appretiated, thanks

Houndcrazy93, British Columbia is the finest hunting for all species of wildlife and fishing for that matter in all of North America, They can hunt Black and Grizzly Bear, Bobcat, Lyxn and Cougar with Hounds. If you have a blood relative or in-law you can have them sponsor you for a hunt for some select species of game. If you don't you would need to hire an outfitter and pay some serious coin. As for guns over the boarder, yes it can be done if you apply for the appropriate permits. (No Hand Guns)
Sorry for the bad news.
Could you imagine if all them Montana, Idaho, Oregon, Washington and Cal hunters could just come across the boarder and for a few bucks hunt up here?
Scary to even think about!

No you cant have anyone sponsor you, relative or not.
The only way a U.S citizen can run their hounds in Canada is by hiring an outfitter that will let you bring/run them.

ok thanks for the info, but i was just looking at, the reg for british coulumbia, and is said that a no res alein hunting license is $186 then plus the money for a tag, so does that mean, if i pay the requierd i can only hunt in a certain way thanks. i just found this on the regs it said that a non res could hunt with a bc resident for Big Game that has an acompany permit, but they must be 19 years of age or older, do those cost money,
