I was wonderin if everyone would post a pic of there best Dog and tell what breed it is.


here is my queensland jake. hes lasted the longest for me and finds hogs for me. he doesnt range far but when he gets on em he sure makes them put the breaks on.


here was my brothers Dog Taz. he jus recently got killed by a big boar. he was 3/4 catahoula and 1/4 plott and one rough sob. RIP Taz



Here are two more of my dogs, the cream color leopard is named sky, shes a 72 lb 3/4
catahoula 1/8 plott and 1/8 border collie. her sire is Taz. The reddish tan dog is Boomer my BMC and Florida Cur. hes a year and found his first hog the other day.

This is chili, 3/4 bmc 1/4 pit. If she bays it is a biggun. She don't let em run either. She is only 15 months old & is really turning out to be a good dog, may turn into a great one in time.

I have a dog that looks just like that pionty eared dog you have. He is my little start dog & a damn good bayer. He is good dog I even throw him in with my bear dogs once & wile for those bears that wont tree. But i mostly chase hogs with him. Most my other hog dogs are those black & white McNab dogs. I wish i new how to put pictures on here. Its nice to see you run those stock dogs Ive tried the catch dogs & I spent more time stitching dogs than huntin. The bay dogs work great for were I hunt. I am also from CA I hunt in Mendocino County. Were abouts do you hunt at ?

Never got a picture of him, but the best hog dog I ever had was a little beagle.
I would run it alone, he would run up behind a hog and grab it by the balls.
I would never have to go to baying, just the hog screaming in the woods

This is the best dog I've ever owned or ever seen in the woods on a hog in 15 yrs, the old man, world champion bred papered treeing walker. Everything he produces is some kind of a hog dog. He is the whole package. You can turn him out on track or cast him. If you put him on a track it will be jumped and ran until bayed and he will bay it until he dies. IF you cast him he will make two big circles and will come back if nothing is there. You then have the option of loading him up to try another spot or take a few steps towards the woods and he'll go as deep as he needs to jump a hog. I've seen him run for six hours straight and when he runs he runs to get it bayed up, if he's not running he's back at the truck. Real easy to keep, to breed and to hunt. A true gem of a dog.

1. Is a Queensland Jake the same as an Australian Cattle Dog?


2. What happened to Taz?
Looks like he was vested, so how did the hog get him?

The Queenslands name is Jake, and yeah they are the same thing as an australian cattle dog. Taz was gutted behind his vest.
And I hunt around the fresno area

Crackin stumpy tail cattle dog you have there fella. ive hunted a lot with the long tail varity and they have been mostly as you describe. My current dogs are a pair of EBTx staghounds Brother and sister they go real well and will find and catch if theres one about.

here's ol boudreaux and anne full blood cats ran them with one plot gyp for seven years with out the use of a catch dog r.i.p. gone but never be forgotten they are the foundation for all my dogs in the kennel . sorry for the bad picture
